The Department of Geography was established in 1983 and initially it only provide teaching and training in Intermediate programme. In 1992 the Under graduate program was introduced in the department. Mr. D. B. Tripathy (HOD) and Mr. A. K. Pradhan (Demonstrator), were the founder of this department. In the district of Angul, the course B.A Geography was only offered by Angul college (auto),Angul. Teaching in the department has always focused on the applied components of geographical knowledge. The department also facilitate lab for students practical, there are a number of practical instruments (Theodolite, plane table survey, prismatic compass, GPS etc.) available in the department laboratory. Also number of maps, toposheets, globes ,weather charts are available in the department for student’s use. The department intake 16 students per year for Honours. There are a number of Students of this department find numerous achievements every year.
