The department of Philosophy offers 3 years honours degree course. The syllabus it follows is the state model syllabus for undergraduate course in philosophy. There are 2 sanctioned teaching posts. Student strength for each year is 20. The department organizes various activities throughout the session like student seminars, departmental seminars, periodical lectures, welcome and farewell ceremonies. Teaching and learning take place in a friendly, unorthodox manner. Student participation and classroom discussion are always encouraged. Qualities of free, rational and critical thinking are instilled in the minds of the students so that they can grow up to be persons of matured and refined intellect and integrity. As per the syllabus students are required to write projects and appear the viva voce thereof on some given topics for completion of their graduation course. By this they learn the skills of in-depth study of a particular topic and method of preparing projects.
